Welcome to the birdplanner.com beta version!
Birders, Birdwatchers, Naturalists and Ecotourists can use this site to generate lists of bird species to get some idea of which birds are found within the mainland of the western hemisphere. In this beta version, not all species are currently represented and
lists will be incomplete and possibly erroneous. Error rates are running at about 10%.
Please report any errors or omissions on the comments page (not yet operational).
Birders and ecotourists can make their own bird lists for free.
Bird lists can be generated for any region in the Western Hemisphere to an accuracy of 0.5 x 0.5 degrees of latitude and longitude.
Data are provided in part by NatureServe in collaboration with Robert Ridgely, James Zook, The Nature Conservancy – Migratory Bird Program, Conservation International – CABS, World Wildlife Fund – US, and Environment Canada – WILDSPACE. The original datasets have been processed and reorganized by Dr. Kevin Knuth to enable rapid searches, list generation, and formatting.
Birdplanner.com is a non-commercial enterprise and is brought to you Dr. Kevin Knuth, who has developed this site and is maintaining this site in his personal free time.
